ABOUT

Hi Yogis

My name is Gioia.

​

I am 33 years old, I am Italian and have been living, studying and working in Australia since 2013. 

 

Working as a professional Chef in a tough environment has had some negative effects on my body and was the reason why I originally started practicing yoga and meditation. I immediately felt the benefits and changes both mentally and physically. I have since graduated with 350+ hours of training and an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching with The Australian Yoga Academy. I have also completed 50 hours of Yin Yoga Training with Dr. Karina Smith. Although my formal training has finished, I continue to read and study yoga to continually learn and improve my knowledge and skills.

 

My philosophy is: Less TAPAS!

That is rather than practices that are heat building and strengthening, I focus on a movement style that is gentler in nature. I believe in teaching to my student's needs, therefore, I will always provide variations and modifications as needed. I check in with my students before, during and after the lessons - to ensure that they are comfortable throughout.

I am based in Melbourne and offer private or group classes to both adults and children, in English and Italian and can meet in person or online via Zoom .

 

Whatever stage you are in yoga journey, I hope to help you get as much enjoyment from it as I do.

Yin

Yin Yoga is a particular style of yoga that embraces a series of floor based postures that are slow and held for a period of time.

 

This practice aims to target and maintain the health of the Yin tissues of the body; ligaments, tendons, fascia, fluid and the other connective tissues.

Yoga for Hospitality

There is no denying the challenges of working in the hospitality industry. Irregular hours and busy shifts can cause high stress levels and limit the amount of time you have to enjoy yourself, spend time with family and friends, or get out and meet new people .

 

I really care about hospitality workers knowing first hand the negative affects it can have on our body and mind.

​

For that reason, I have created a set of lessons that will guide you through simple poses and meditation techniques that can help restore balance and provide respite.

Private or Group Bookings

Classes available in person or online via zoom. Classes in Italian and English.

5x Class Pass Valid  for 12 months $47 AUD

10x Class Pass Valid for 12 months $78 AUD

 

Pre & Post Natal

I am offering different styles of classes
for the first, second and third trimester.

 

I completely understand pregnancy is different woman to woman and each has
a specific, individual set of needs.
